Peace Mandalas
A simple gesture that can brighten the heart of the person who receives it.
Through ‘Peace Mandalas’, we invite everyone to create colourful, harmonious mandalas to give to children’s hospitals, orphanages, care homes and centres for older people as a sign of serenity, hope and closeness.
Painting them is not only a creative act but also a moment of deep well-being: it eases tension, anxiety and worries; relaxes and renews mind, body and spirit; helps give voice to feelings and emotions; encourages peaceful expression of thoughts; and stimulates creative thinking and conflict resolution.
A small circle of colour can become a great gesture of peace.
The activity is promoted by Mimos para tu Ojos and Living Peace International.
Objectives
- Strengthen the culture of peace.
- Develop participants’ creativity.
- Improve teamwork and interpersonal relationships, overcoming differences and creating opportunities to meet.
Activities
- With your group, prepare workshops to make mandalas together in the facilities you wish to visit. If this is not possible, donate your creations by organising a small event.
- Mandalas can measure 40×40 cm or 50×50 cm and be painted on paper, fabric or wood; the important thing is that they can be hung up.
- Children, young people and adults can paint mandalas in small groups after agreeing on the colours and method to use.
- Remember to take photos and send them to us to share with the whole network: write to info@livingpeaceinternational.org.
