1. Data Controller and Data Protection Officer
1.1 Data Controller
The “controller” of personal data — the legal entity that determines the purposes and means of processing personal data — is the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS, with its registered office at Via Piave 15, 00046 Grottaferrata (RM), Italy.
1.2 Data Protection Officer
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is lawyer Sergio Barbaro, who can be contacted at: Data Protection Officer, email: info@new-humanity.org.
2. Place of data processing
Processing associated with this website’s services takes place at the above-mentioned office and is carried out only by technical personnel appointed by the Controller, or by persons assigned occasional maintenance tasks, under the Controller’s direct authority.
No data arising from the web service is disclosed or disseminated.
Personal data provided by users requesting information materials (answers to questions, newsletters, notifications, etc.) is used solely to respond to the request and is disclosed to third parties only where necessary to fulfil legal obligations.
3. Types of data processed
We process two types of data: browsing data collected automatically and data provided by the user.
In particular:
3.1 Browsing data
The IT systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, in the course of their normal operation, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.
This information is not collected to be associated with identified individuals, but by its nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.
This category includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by visitors to the website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file returned, the numerical code indicating the server response status (success, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and IT environment.
This data is used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information on website use and to check that it works correctly, and is deleted immediately after processing. The data could be used to establish liability in the event of alleged computer crimes against the website: apart from this possibility, data on web contacts is currently retained for no more than seven days.
3.2 Data voluntarily provided by the user
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of email to the addresses shown on this website entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, needed to respond to requests, and any other personal data included in the message. Specific summary notices will progressively be displayed on website pages dedicated to particular services provided on request.
4. Cookies
This website uses various types of “cookies”. For more information on the cookie policy, please visit the dedicated page at Cookie Policy, which explains the use of necessary cookies (session cookies), preference cookies, statistical cookies and marketing cookies. It also provides information on consent, the consent ID and date, and how to change or withdraw consent.
5. Data retention period
Except for data voluntarily provided by users for specific services, for which separate notices will be provided, browsing information will be retained for a maximum of fourteen months after collection, unless it must be used to establish liability in the event of computer crimes against the website. In that case, the information will be kept available to the Authorities for as long as necessary to ensure that the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS can exercise its rights of defence.
6. Purposes and legal basis of processing
Apart from the provisions concerning browsing data, users are free to provide the personal data requested in forms on this website or otherwise given in contacts with its various services to request information materials or other assistance. This data will be known to employees and associates of the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS who have been properly instructed on the precautions and safeguards to adopt when processing the information concerned, as required by Applicable Legislation.
Failure to provide such data may make it impossible to fulfil the request.
7. Methods of data processing
Personal data is processed using automated tools for no longer than strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, unlawful or improper use and unauthorised access.
On the basis of the user’s consent, where required for specific services, users may be contacted by email, SMS or any equivalent electronic means, or by post or telephone calls made by an operator, using any contact details provided. Users who prefer to be contacted only through one or some of these channels may expressly request this using the form available in the relevant service section.
7.1 Tools and media used for data processing
Data is processed using computer and telecommunications systems and electronic tools.
Processing takes place in part on dedicated servers owned by the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS or, where applicable, on another trusted server. In the latter case, under a specific agreement, the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS retains exclusive legal availability of the server or servers used, without disclosing data to the service provider, which remains contractually obliged to adopt appropriate, up-to-date physical and logical security and protection measures on the servers used by New Humanity.
Data is also processed using computer and telecommunications systems at the offices of the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS or, in any event, IT equipment owned by the Association or, where necessary, by persons authorised to process data, in compliance with the security measures required by current legislation and those specified by the Controller.
Data may also be processed using non-electronic tools, including paper records.
7.2 Processing operations
Processing may comprise one or more operations concerning the collection, recording, organisation, storage, consultation, processing, modification, selection, extraction, comparison, use, interconnection, blocking, disclosure (as specified in paragraph 4.3 below), erasure and destruction of data, whether or not it is recorded in a database.
7.3 Disclosure of data
Personal data collected by the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS, or which comes to its knowledge in the course of its activities, may be disclosed to, or become known to, persons authorised to process data and/or processors, according to their specific responsibilities and functions, to fulfil the purposes described above or to meet legal and/or contractual obligations.
As a rule, data is not disclosed or made known to other controllers unless necessary to comply with legal or contractual provisions or to fulfil specific obligations. In such cases, the data may in particular be made known to the following persons or categories of persons, to the extent necessary to fulfil legal and/or contractual obligations:
- internal and/or external consultants or associates, for compliance with current legislation and/or the performance of contractual services in dealings with individual data subjects (employment consultants, legal advisers, accountants, tax advisers and auditors);
- the Focolare Movement (P.A.F.O.M.) (https://www.focolare.org/), of which the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS is a part.
7.4 Dissemination of data
Personal data will not be disseminated unless expressly requested by the data subject, including where applicable under specific contractual provisions agreed with that person. In such cases, the scope of dissemination remains limited to the data subject’s request or the contractual agreements in place.
Website browsing data alone may, however, be disseminated, but only in aggregated and anonymous form, to carry out statistical analysis of visits to the website http://livingpeaceinternational.org/, owned by the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS, or parts of it.
7.5 Browsing data
Visiting the website http://livingpeaceinternational.org/, owned by the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS, may entail automatic processing of the User’s browsing data solely to make the visit technically possible and to monitor and ensure correct operation in relation to the hardware and software used. Although such data is not processed to identify visitors to the website, the User’s identity could still be established if this data is associated with other data provided to the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS or third parties.
Browsing data that may be processed includes: IP numbers of the User’s devices; access counts; pages viewed; access and connection times; browser; the User’s operating system; the URL visited before accessing the website http://livingpeaceinternational.org/, owned by the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS; the numerical code indicating the server response status (success, error, etc.); and other parameters relating to the User’s operating system and IT environment. This data will be used only for the purposes specified above, including anonymous monitoring for statistical purposes.
If this information is used for statistical purposes, the User’s data is processed in aggregated and anonymous form to maintain a high level of protection for data subjects (see paragraph 7.4, final sentence).
Browsing data may, where necessary, be used to establish liability in the event of alleged computer crimes against the website.
8. Rights of data subjects
Applicable Legislation grants users a number of rights, including, by way of example, the right:
- to access their Personal Data;
- to request its rectification;
- to have it updated and erased if incomplete, inaccurate or collected unlawfully;
- to request that processing be restricted to part of the information concerning them;
- to have information concerning them transmitted to themselves or to third parties they designate (“data portability”);
- to object to its processing on legitimate grounds;
- to withdraw consent at any time by sending an informal written request to the Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS using the contact details provided.
The Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS reminds users that, if they consider the response to their requests unsatisfactory, they may contact and lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) in accordance with Applicable Legislation.
9. Responses to data subject requests and contact details
The Associazione Internazionale New Humanity ETS may therefore be contacted for any request, clarification or response concerning the application of personal data protection legislation and the practical exercise of the data subject’s rights described in the preceding paragraph, including where data needs to be updated, modified, supplemented, corrected and/or erased, as required by law or following assessment of specific needs expressly presented by the data subject.
